See the stars in the Dark Skies Festival

Stargazing in the North Yorkshire Moors

The Dark Skies Festival takes place throughout the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors from from 15th February to 9th March 2019. It’s the perfect chance to try stargazing (whether you are a beginner or an expert) in some of the darkest skies around. There are lots of individual events taking place during the festival including photography workshops, expert talks and even a Go Ape Night zip.

The Cleveland Way turns 50

Enjoy a coastal walk in the North York Moors

The Cleveland Way is one of seven National Trails in England and from start to finish is 109 miles in total. Starting at the market town in Helmsley it travels through the North York Moors and down the beautiful Yorkshire coast. There’s lots to see and do along the route and 2019 is the perfect time to tackle it. The Cleveland Way turns 50 in 2019.

It’s the fifth annual Tour de Yorkshire

Tour de Yorkshire

After hosting the Tour de France in 2014, Yorkshire launched it’s own road race the very next year. The Tour de Yorkshire is now a firmly established cycling event and this year will be the fifth edition of the race. Full details are still to be confirmed but we do know the host towns will include Scarborough, Leeds, Bedale and Barnsley.

Paul Weller and Jess Glynne are both coming to Dalby Forest in June and Scarborough Open Air theatre will welcome an array of stars in their summer sessions.
