Half Term and Halloween!!!
22nd – 30th October at Castle Howard.
Broomstick making.
Calling all witches and warlocks! Our broomstick making craft sessions are back for Halloween half term.
Using materials collected across the Estate by our forestry team and sprinkled with a bit of a magic by the Skelves, we invite you to fashion your very own flying instrument this spooky season.
The workshop will include broomstick flying technique and photo opportunities with the Skelves and your newly made broomsticks!
Magical beast Guided trail.
Join the Skelves at 11.30am, 1 pm and 2.30pm Skelves this Halloween as they take you on magical tour of the Estate, uncovering magical beasts along the way…
The Skelves are back for Halloween half term and believe there’s signs of sprung traps around Ray Wood.
These traps are invisible to the human eye unless sprung by a magical beast! Join the Skelves as they show the signs of magical activity. Cast incantations and spells with our spellbinding friends and discover the enchantment hiding in the forest this half term.
At 11.30am, 1 pm and 2.30pm during half term you can join the Skelves on an adventure through Ray Wood, starting and ending on the grass in front of the lake as you walk towards the Skelf playground from the visitor entrance. There will be a sign indicating the meeting point!
