Join Santa and his special team of elves at either Pickering or Grosmont Station before a magical adventure aboard the Santa Express which will take you on a festive journey you won’t forget!
This enchanting Christmas experience sees Mr. Claus and his jolly helpers pass through the heritage carriages, giving children a chance to meet the legendary man himself on board the train, and gifting a special soft toy present to the children onboard – providing they’ve managed to keep themselves off the naughty list this year!

- Explore the Christmas Village, meet all the animals, play festive games, do some Christmas crafting and listen to all the exciting stories from the North Pole.
- Santa’s most entrusted Elf will greet you and take you through to meet the big man himself, hear all about the magic of Christmas and tell him what’s on your wish list this year. (The time you book is for your visit in to see Santa only, please make sure you are at Elf reception 5 minutes before your session starts, all other attractions can be enjoyed at any time throughout the day)
- Head over to the VIP elf toy store to choose your very own present.
- Enjoy a festive tractor and trailer ride to see our beautiful herd of Red Deer and a chance to see if you can spot Rudolph while he waits for Santa with his friends.
- Your ticket also includes have full access to the beautiful walled garden, grounds rare breed farm park, adventure play area all day!
For a spot of Christmas shopping why not visit The Christmas Barn which is full of stunning decorations, festive homeware and lots of beautiful gifts. The Woodyard home, gift and garden store where there is huge range of unique gifts and homeware and the Pantry offers some fantastic festive hampers. Pick up some delicious, tasty treats for your Christmas dinner table from the Farm Shop and enjoy some homemade winter warming food from the beautiful Coach House Café!
Scarborough’s real ice rink to return this Christmas
After a successful debut in 2021, Scarborough’s real ice outdoor skating rink will return for Christmas 2022 as part of an even better festive family experience.
Bringing active fun to the town’s programme of Christmas events, the ice rink will be open in the town centre on North Street car park daily from Friday 9 December to Tuesday 3 January, 11am to 8pm (last entry at 7pm).
New for this year is a 14 x 14 metre tepee next to the rink, which will feature a bar and roaring fire, perfect for non-skaters to relax while other family members have fun on the ice.
There will also be stalls and attractions including gifts, German sausages, craft chocolates, gin, a children’s carousel and an organ, all decked out with Christmassy lighting.
The rink itself will provide a great skating experience for all ages and skill levels with music and lighting.

The hugely popular St Nicholas Fair returns in 2022, a Christmas experience that will produce magical memories that you’ll never forget and will have you returning to the city time and time again.
Baubles, carols and festive fairs – Christmas in York is just around the corner! Extra special plans are in place across the city this year to celebrate 30 years of York’s famous Christmas Market, St Nicholas Fair. 70 alpine chalets will line the streets of Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square from 17th November to 23rd December, creating a festive wonderland with an array of local produce and artisan gifts on offer from local traders.
From luxury stationary to Yorkshire Pudding beer, there are lots of unique gift ideas at this year’s Christmas market.
