Halloween Train, Northern Lights Express and Santa Special at NYMR

A spooky service will run on the 26 & 27 and 30 & 31 October 2019

Join us on board the Halloween Train, which will take you and your family on a spooky journey this Halloween!

Children and their scaredy-cat grown ups will love meeting our silly, spectacular and sometimes spooky cast of storytellers. Hear their ghoulish tales, join in with their scary songs and be prepared for moments of magic. This will be an evening of Steam & Scream!

Departing from Pickering, the spooktacular Halloween Train will travel to Levisham Station with scary storytelling along the way. This will be a return non-stop journey with Tricks and Treats! There’s a special gift for every child who dares to ride and remember to dress up in your best Halloween costume to really get into the spirit of things.

Services will run on an evening, children (and adults) will be encouraged to come in fancy dress!

Northern Lights Express

Northern Lights Express will operate: 30 November & 1, 7, 8, 12*, 13*, 14, 15, 19*, 20*, 21, 22 & 23* December, departing at 7pm. *Two evening services will operate on highlighted dates departing at 5pm and 7pm.

Join us this winter for a trip on our new, Northern Lights Express! This truly spectacular illuminated journey starts at Pickering Station, where our train with heritage carriages awaits you – decorated with thousands of lights.

You will travel through an enchanted forest which is transformed by a multitude of lights and surprises. You will then arrive at Levisham Station, where a dazzling light show will begin. Experience a light extravaganza and a snow covered authentic heritage station, like you’ve never seen before!

Families looking to make some fantastic festive memories during the most wonderful time of the year should head to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. From Saturday 30th November to Sunday 22nd December, the attraction’s much-loved Santa Specials will return, taking children on a magical adventure across the wintry and breath-taking North Yorkshire countryside.

With festive journeys setting off from both Pickering and Grosmont, the Santa Express is sure to bring Christmas to life as children meet the main man himself – Santa Claus.

This enchanting Christmas experience sees Mr Claus and his jolly helpers wander through the heritage carriages, sharing tales of Christmases gone by and gifting special presents and an activity bag to every child on board.

During the journey adults can tuck into a delicious mince pie, hot drink and a warming alcoholic tipple, whilst children enjoy juice and a piece of fruit.

Santa Special tickets will be available to purchase from Tuesday 20th August, but hurry, ‘yule’ be sorry to miss this popular event.

Dates departing from Pickering Station to Levisham: 30th November, 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd December at 09:35, 11:10, 13:55 and 15:30. Price per adult £23 and child £23 including activity bag and present.
