COVID Alert levels 3rd DECEMBER 2020 for England & our Booking Guarantee.

As you may already be aware, the Government set out new information on local COVID alert levels for your postcodes. This information is set out for you below. SO FOR THIS REASON WE ARE ABLE TO TRANSFER ANY BOOKINGS FOR UPTO 2 YEARS IN THE EVENT OF COVID -19 RESTRICTIONS.

The local COVID alert level for the area in which you live can be found on the website along with further information on each level and what it means.

Medium Level ( Tier 1 )

You can still travel and come on holiday with us providing:

  • (Previously published the Rule of 6), so can be 6 people from 6 households or 1 household & a support bubble.
  • High Alert level ( Tier 2 )

You can still travel and come on holiday with us providing:

  • one household or support bubble may come on holiday
  • Please make sure you understand what a support bubble is.

Very High Alert level ( Tier 3 )

  • The Government guidance recommends people not to travel outside of the area.

Our coronavirus booking guarantee for new bookings

  • This is for bookings arriving in July, August & September 2020. We will review this at the end of September.
  •  Cottages have a low deposit of £100 to secure your booking. ( BY TELEPHONE ONLY)
  • Cottage booking balances will not be due until 2 weeks prior to your holiday incase of late changes to Coronavirus guidance.
  • Complete flexibility to move bookings for up to 24 months in the event of Coronavirus restrictions
  • Due to low deposit and late balance payment, no refunds are offered, however you can reschedule/postpone your booking.

Is it safe to holiday while Coronavirus is still in the UK?

There’s no doubt both our cottages, with individual parking, large patio’s and seperate gardens are  fantastic for finding space and being outdoors, making it an attractive way to go on holiday whilst practicing social distancing. The Granary cottage team are working hard to ensure that, where any facilities are shared, everything possible is done to keep guests safe. Ultimately, our guests should follow the government’s guidance in deciding whether it is safe for them to take a holiday and in determining how best to practice social distancing. Currently, our cottages are closed and travelling to take holidays is not permitted, so it is important you abide by these regulations. Granary cottages social distancing procedure will be updated on this page prior to reopening.

What happens if I’ve booked a summer holiday but, when the time comes, I’m ill or need to self isolate? (due to coronavirus)

We understand that, even when holiday travel resumes, you may still find you are unable to take your holiday due to the coronavirus – for example, if you fall ill or if a member of your household falls ill and you have to self isolate. For this reason, we launched our coronavirus booking guarantee which ensures you only pay a low deposit when you make a reservation and the remaining balance isn’t due until closer to your holiday start date. If you find that you’re unable to take your holiday due to coronavirus, you’ll be able to move your holiday by up to 24 months to provide the maximum flexibility.

Safer Stays

  • During Cleaning we use recommended equipment to protect ourselves and guests.
  • Anti-viral disinfectant  is  used to sanitise all surfaces and heavy-use items.
  • Alcohol based hand sanitiser is available at the accommodation.
  • Cleaning work to the Government’s “Covid Secure” guidelines.We are on site to manage guest arrival, key collection etc. from a safe  social distance, at all times.

  We hope you are all keeping safe and well during these difficult and trying times. 

We have been following the corona virus updates carefully over the past few weeks and as a small family run business that depends on your valued custom, we would hope you can still holiday with us.

If you have a booking with us before 4th July 2020, these can be postponed for up to TWO years  and you can get in touch with us when the crisis is over to rearrange a date to suit you. 

For any bookings on or after July 4th, as the advice is changing every day, we will be closely monitoring the situation and will update guests accordingly nearer  the time. 

Customers are advised to contact their travel insurer should they wish to cancel and not postpone.

Dear all of our customers,
Due to COVID-19 we are now offering a home delivery service to Snainton and surrounding areas. This is to help members of the public who are in self-isolation, or to anyone who simply would like some fresh home cooked food.

This will be available from today onwards, we are hoping to continue this service through this pandemic, however we currently don’t know how this situation will be as of Monday 23rd March. In this time of need we are aiming to be as much help as possible to everyone.

We will be offering our full menu (including our usual Sunday service, ie carvery served 12pm until 4pm which is also available for delivery). All meals will be served hot so will therefore need to be eaten immediately, and not to be reheated. Both delivery and collection will be available, as well as our continued in house service.

We will be taking orders from 11am until 7pm at night, and can be delivered throughout the day. Please call 01723 859231 for more information as well as placing orders. Card payments will be made over the phone, and cash payments upon delivery. Please see attached photos of our current menu, and please be aware we are trying our best to help during this period of time and we hope you can respect our hardworking team!

The National Trust are being incredibly generous in this difficult time,

‘At this time of everything closing
the National Trust have agreed to remove all pay barriers from National Trust parks and Gardens. This is in response to do what we can for everyone at this time to support social distancing and the need to be outside in nature for our own mental wellbeing. It will mean that all the grounds behind pay barriers will now be open for everyone. In addition all carparking chargers will be removed. You can enjoy the open space and keep your social distance as per the government advice.

We will however be closing all cafes, houses, retail, and cancelling events. So take a flask and a sandwich.

There is no commercial drive behind this, it will cost the charity a significant loss in income – but we acknowledge mental health and wellbeing at this time is the priority.

Also, the National Parks are free and always open.

Stay at home as much as you can, but when you need it – nature is there for you and free’.
